The transfigured reality
By Guillermo Samperio
Jazzamoart’s painting is new, in that it brings the figurative up to date through the means and discoveries of abstraction. Pure painting is contaminated by reality, but it still preserves its absolute freedom to interact with what we see in our day-to-day world through abstract techniques. The musicians are onstage – a recurrent motif for the artist, their muscles move with the impetuousness that he flings, dashes and smears on paint. The bodies emerge from the fabric of spontaneous calligraphies. The passion of the artist for music is coherent with the composition of his paint strokes.
